Overview

Punchey provides a unique Smart Number to every business, ensuring that customer communication stays professional, trackable, and fully integrated with your CRM. Behind the scenes, Smart Numbers work hand-in-hand with your Local Destination Number, allowing you to answer calls on your existing phones while keeping your business presence consistent.

What Is a Smart Number?

Your Smart Number is the public-facing business number customers see, call, and text.

Key benefits:

  • Creates automatic records of every call, text, or message in the customer profile

  • Keeps personal numbers private while maintaining professional communication

  • Seamlessly integrates with your existing business line

  • Can be configured for routing through PBX systems (press 1 for Sales, 2 for Service, etc.)

What Is a Local Destination Number?

The Local Destination Number is your internal phone line—cell or landline—where Smart Number calls are routed.

How it works:

  • Customers call your Smart Number

  • Punchey routes the call to your Local Destination Number

  • You answer calls on your existing phone without exposing your personal line

PBX Routing Option

For more complex setups, your Smart Number can route through a PBX (Private Branch Exchange), allowing you to:

  • Prompt callers with menu options (e.g., “Press 1 for Sales, Press 2 for Customer Service”)

  • Route calls to multiple Local Destination Numbers in sequence (daisy-chaining)

Setup & Support

Your Smart Number is automatically configured during the initial setup process. If you need changes or custom routing, contact our support team at support@punchey.com.
