Understanding Smart Numbers and Local Destination Numbers

Your Smart Number is a highly beneficial, publicly-facing number that customers can see, call, and text.

All interactions with your Smart Number automatically create a record and store it under the customer profile. There are numerous benefits to using the Smart Number, and it integrates seamlessly with your existing business line.

What is the Local Destination Number?

Your Local Destination Number is the internal number that the outside world doesn’t see. This is the actual phone (cell or landline) to which we route your Smart Number calls, allowing you to answer calls on your existing phone.

Furthermore, your Smart Number can route to an intermediary number known as a PBX. This setup prompts users to press 1 for Sales, 2 for Customer Service, etc., and then daisy chains the call down to subsequent destination numbers.
